There are some wedding venues that never fail to take my breath away, and The Ashes Barns is definitely one of them.

Nestled in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside, The Ashes is the perfect combination of rustic charm, timeless elegance and romantic countryside views. From the gorgeous barns and characterful brickwork to the stunning grounds and beautiful spaces for guests to relax and celebrate, it truly is a dream setting for a wedding day.

I was so excited to photograph this beautiful wedding at The Ashes, and honestly, it was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I love being a wedding photographer.

A Relaxed Morning at The Ashes

The day began with the excitement of wedding preparations. There is something so special about the morning of a wedding, the anticipation, the laughter, the champagne, the finishing touches and, of course, those emotional moments when everything starts to feel very real.

My approach to wedding photography is all about capturing those moments naturally. I want you to be able to look back at your photographs and remember not just what your wedding day looked like, but what it felt like.

From the quiet moments during bridal preparations to the laughter shared with friends and family, I love documenting all of the little moments that might otherwise be forgotten.

A Beautiful Ceremony Surrounded by Loved Ones

As guests gathered and the ceremony began, the atmosphere was filled with excitement.

The Ashes provides such a beautiful backdrop for a wedding ceremony, with its historic charm and warm, romantic atmosphere. Watching two people promise forever to each other, surrounded by the people they love most, is something I will genuinely never get tired of photographing.

One of my favourite things about being a wedding photographer is capturing everyone's reactions throughout the ceremony too, the proud smiles, the happy tears and those little glances between family members that the couple might not even get to see themselves.

These are often some of the photographs that become even more meaningful with time.

Golden Moments, Confetti and Celebration

After the ceremony came one of my favourite parts of any wedding day: the celebrations.

There was laughter, hugs, congratulations and plenty of excitement as everyone came together to celebrate the newlyweds.

These moments are so full of genuine emotion, which makes them perfect for natural, documentary-style photographs.

The beautiful surroundings at The Ashes Barns also gave us the perfect opportunity to capture some relaxed couple portraits.

I never want couples to feel like they have disappeared from their own wedding for hours to have photographs taken. Your wedding day is for celebrating with your favourite people, so I keep couple portraits relaxed, natural and fun.

We simply took a little time away from the celebrations to wander around the beautiful grounds, enjoy a few quiet moments together and capture some gorgeous photographs.

The result? Natural photographs that feel like you.

Timeless Wedding Portraits at The Ashes Barns

The Ashes is one of those venues where you are completely spoilt for choice when it comes to photographs.

The beautiful barns, countryside surroundings and charming architecture create the perfect backdrop for timeless wedding photographs. Whether we are taking romantic portraits, fun wedding party photographs or capturing those spontaneous moments between guests, there is beauty around every corner.

My favourite photographs are always the ones that don't feel overly posed.

The way you look at each other when nobody has told you to.

The uncontrollable laughter.

The squeeze of a hand.

The moment you realise: we actually just got married.

Those are the photographs that tell the real story of a wedding day.

An Evening Full of Love and Celebration

As the day continued, the atmosphere shifted from emotional and romantic to full-on celebration.

The speeches brought plenty of laughter and emotion, the drinks were flowing, and everyone was ready to celebrate.

One of the things I love most about photographing weddings is watching the day unfold. No two weddings are ever the same because no two couples are the same.

Your photographs should reflect your day, your personalities and the people who made your wedding so special.

That means I am always looking for the big moments, but I am equally focused on the small ones too.

The hugs.

The laughter across the table.

The grandparents watching the speeches.

Your best friend crying on the dance floor.

The moments you didn't even realise were happening.

Because those moments matter just as much.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings at The Ashes

The Ashes Barns is without a doubt one of my favourite Staffordshire wedding venues to photograph.

It has everything you could want from a wedding venue: beautiful surroundings, incredible spaces for photographs and a relaxed, romantic atmosphere that allows couples and their guests to really enjoy the day.

But, of course, the venue is only part of the story.

What truly makes a wedding unforgettable is the people, the emotion and all of those beautifully imperfect moments in between.

As a wedding photographer, my goal is to capture your day exactly as it felt — from the nervous excitement of the morning to the chaos of the dance floor at the end of the night.

This wedding at The Ashes was filled with so much love, laughter and happiness, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been there to capture it all.

To the newlyweds: thank you so much for trusting me with such an important day. I hope these photographs allow you to relive every laugh, every happy tear and every special moment for years to come.
