This was a very special wedding for me, a romantic Moat Hall Barns wedding in Shrewsbury, filled with real moments, real emotion, and so much love, shared between Charlee and Matthew, two people I’ve had the privilege of knowing and watching grow over the past few years.
A few months before the wedding, Charlee shared a huge secret with me… they had actually already been married for a year, on the exact same date they were now celebrating with all their family and friends!
The reactions on the day were absolutely priceless. Keeping that secret for so long must have been incredibly difficult, but they made the decision not to tell me at first, knowing my reaction would have been pure shock rather than me capturing the genuine emotions of their loved ones. Looking back, I’m so glad they did, it allowed me to document those moments exactly as they unfolded.
Their love is so strong and so natural, and it shines through in every single image. You can truly see how much they mean to each other, and they were such a joy to photograph. The day felt less like work and more like being part of the celebration with them. I poured my heart into capturing their story and creating memories they can cherish for a lifetime.
Moat Hall Barns itself is a stunning venue, with such a relaxed and beautiful atmosphere. The setting is incredible, especially the lake at the back, which creates the most perfect backdrop for portraits. It’s a venue I would absolutely love to return to again and again.
